Week 2 - Merry Christmas!

We do not get to call home this Christmas Day... but we have the most glorious opportunity to send an Email!!!
Today is Christmas. First of all... Thank you for the Christmas packages!!! I got the one from the family and the one from Lindsay yesterday at about lunch time!!! So today, i opened up all my little presents!!! Woooooo!!! Today in the MTC we dont have a regular schedule... we basically just party all day, just kidding, but really... This morning Elder Russell M. Nelson came and spoke at our Christmas fireside!!! Wow. He was great!!! Today i'm wearing my new panda tie (thanks mom and dad) I'm assuming this tie is from your trip to China! And thanks for all the cool Chinese candy!!!
Anyways... Christmas is not about the cool Panda tie... Or the toy slugbug... or the Asian candy... or even the mtn dew flavored lip balm... Christmas is about Christ. Really, everyday should be centered on our Lord and Savior Jesucristo! When we think about the gifts of Christmas, we should always remember the most important gift of all time. The gift that our loving Heavenly Father has sent to us. His son! Jesus. And how can we show our love for Jesus Christ? Sure, act out the nativity, or read from the scriptures... but what i think is the best way possible for us to show our love to Jesus and our Heavenly Father, is simply by showing love to others. When we show love to others, our Lord feels that love! Giving a smile, or helping a neighbor, or just being a friend to someone who needs it!!! I am so excited to get out into the field and show love to everyone I come in contact with!
Yo se que Jesucristo es el Salvador. Yo se que la iglesia es verdadero. and I love you! I SERIOUSLY LOVE ALL OF YOU!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Merry Christmas from the MTC

Hello!!!
Elder Ferney here!!! Since our P-day is usually on tuesdays, but Christmas is on tuesday, we get 4 hours of monday to do pday stuff! Guess what? IT's SNOWING!!! Cool right? It looks like it's going to be a white christmas after all!!! So, at first, the MTC was the worst. But now. I love it!!! It's such a party!!! I seriously love all the elders in our district and zone!!! The food is so good!!! 3 square meals a day? It's been a while... but i'm loving eating my veggies!!! hahaha. So, on Friday, i was feeling sick. Like way sick. So i got up out of class to go get a drink or something and right outside of the door i dry heaved into the garbage, then stood up and BANG! I passed out!!! The sound of my head smacking on the hard ground was so loud that people from like 3 classes ran out of their classrooms and I was out. My companion said he tried to catch me but didn't make it in time. Luckily one of the sisters was a registered nurse in a previous life! She elevated my head and got me breathing again. Apparently when I woke up, a loogie shot out of my mouth, went straight up in the air, and landed on my head!!! My companion was pretty calm, but Elder Nielsen (basically my MTC BFF) was flipping!!! Once i opened my eyes, he WOULD NOT let me close my eyes!!! Later he told me that he was very scared! So they got medical people over and the wheelchaired me to the clinic. There, i barfed in a bucket... Then they gave me this nasty shot that made me sleepy and helped with nausea... I got to sleep in a sick bed for like 3 hours, then went back to my room and slept... I feel a ton better now!!! (except for the goose egg on the top of my head) I just wanted to thank you for keeping me in your prayers cause i know i was somehow protected!!!
I can't believe it's Christmas eve!!! Wooooo!!! I love Christmas time!!! It's THE BEST!!! We sing a lot of Himnos (Hymns) here!!! I always sing as loud as i can! So fun!!! We have busy 16 hour days that are jam packed full of things to do. I wish we could sleep more!!! 10:30pm - 6:20am is not enough sleep. but whateves... Anyway, The temple is closed until january so we just go on walks to the temple on every P-day and every sunday. I have SO MANY pictures of the temple!!! It's great fun!!!
Recently they outlawed the sandwich punching game, and tie traiding... bummer right? Oh well... the elders in my district and I just walk around singing songs and beat boxing!!! Awwww yeah!!! It's fun.
I'm glad to hear from you all!!! and I'd love to hear from you even more!!! If you go on dearelder.com (I think thats the website) you can write me a letter and they print it out and give it to me the same day!!! My mailbox number is 244 and my departure date is February 11, 2013... I can only read emails for like 30 minutes a week, but i can read letters any day!!! Hand letters rock too!!!
I'm going to email a bunch of emails of pictures, i borrowed a card reader from someone... Send me a card reader please!!! SD card -> USB thanks.
Mucha Fe.

Week 1 - 12/18/2012

SUBJECT:  What have I got myself into!!
Hola mi Familia y mis amigos!!!
Greetings from the MTC!!! Here I am. It is definatly an experience! To start I want to tell you a little bit about my companion. Elder Nieves. He is the same height as me, give or take, but he is bigger than me. He's from North Carolina and he is going to the same mission as me!!! I've only gained 5 lbs so far. But i'm trying!!! I'm eating as much as I can. But it kinda freaked me out the other day when my pants were feeling too tight... We have gym time like 5 days a week... I play basketball, everytime. It is so fun!!! Elder Nieves and I have our own room, the other 4 elders in our district share a room. I love these guys!!! Seriously!!! Elder Knight (Syracuse, UT) and Elder Nielsen (Roosevelt, UT) are companions and Elder Arnold (Reno, NV) and Elder Barker (St. George, UT) are companions. Elder Nielsen is a nut!!! Me and him are basically best friends... We are glad we aren't companions because we would accomplish nothing together! There are 4 sisters in our district, and they are pretty cool, I guess... But girls have cooties, so they are scary for the next two years... Our class is so fun. Our teacher is Hermano Gilmore (we pronounce it Heel-More-ay just for fun) We are supposed to speak spanish as much as possible!!! It is pretty fun, but it's hard! I wish they gave us more sleep!!! I fall asleep all the time!!! We spend about 80% of the day in the classroom! We are not allowed to study in our rooms, we have to be in the classroom, dressed and ready to go at 7am! Its not to bad... I can pray in spanish and bear my basic testimony in spanish. We have taught an "investigator" 100% in spanish! Woooo baby!!! My time is basically up... So next time, I'll make sure to write this email before i check other emails... I can't figure out how to attatch pictures... These computers are very very locked up!!! I'll see if I can learn how next week. Hey, I can read emails once a week... But I can read letters anytime!!! Send me some letters, I'd love that!!! I love you all!!!
